2024-T3 aluminum sheet refers to a specific aluminum alloy sheet often used in aircraft industry, belonging to the 2000 series aluminum alloy, the main components of which are aluminum and copper.

- Alloy grade: 2024

It belongs to the Al-Cu-Mg series high-strength aluminum alloy, with excellent tensile strength and fatigue strength, and is often used in aerospace structural parts, such as aircraft wings, fuselage skins, etc.

- Temper: T3

Solution treatment + cold working + natural aging, providing a good balance between strength and formability

- Chemical composition (typical value):

Copper: Cu 4.4%

Magnesium Mg: 1.5%

Manganese Mn: 0.6%

Others Small amounts of silicon, iron, zinc, etc.

Aluminum: Remainder

- Mechanical properties (typical):

Tensile strength (UTS): ≥ 470 MPa

Yield strength (Yield): ≥ 310 MPa

Elongation: ≥ 10%

Features of aluminum sheet 2024 t3 clad QQ A 250/5:

- Good corrosion resistance:

Due to the surface cladding of pure aluminum or zinc-containing aluminum alloy, it can effectively isolate the erosion of air, water vapor, etc. on the base material, improve the corrosion resistance of the aluminum plate, and make it suitable for various harsh environments.

- High strength:

2024 aluminum alloy itself has high strength. After T3 heat treatment, the strength is further improved. Combined with the protective effect of the cladding, the overall performance of the entire aluminum plate is even better.

- Good processing performance:

The presence of the aluminum cladding improves the surface quality and processing performance of the aluminum plate, making it easier to carry out rolling, stamping, bending and other processing processes, and can meet the processing requirements of different shapes and sizes.

Cladding (Clad / Alclad) process

"Cladding" refers to a layer of pure aluminum or low-alloy aluminum on the surface of high-strength aluminum alloy to improve its corrosion resistance.

The cladding thickness is usually 2% to 5% of the total thickness.

It has a silvery-white appearance and better oxidation and corrosion resistance.

It is widely used in the aviation field, especially in structural parts exposed to the external environment.

2024-T3 aluminum sheet clad is widely used in:

- Aircraft skin

- Wing structures

- Structural parts such as support beams, joints, brackets, etc.

- Industrial equipment with high stress and certain corrosion resistance.

AMS-QQ-A-250/5 2024-T3 aluminum sheet clad is widely used in aerospace and other fields due to its high strength and good mechanical properties. Through proper cladding treatment, its corrosion resistance and other properties can be improved to meet the needs of specific applications. When selecting and using the material, its characteristics and application environment need to be considered to ensure optimal performance and durability.
